Crypto Mining

Using Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to mine for cryptocurrency.

Crypto Mining

Crypto Mining is an auxiliary income stream unlocked early in the game progression, revolving around utilizing Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to generate cryptocurrency, which can then be sold for cash.

Unlocking and Core Components

The crypto mining pipeline is accessible after unlocking the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), which costs 4 million.

Mining Process and Cryptocurrency Types

To start mining, players connect a Mine node to a GPU cluster. The resulting cryptocurrency output is then routed to a Crypto Seller node. Each specific cryptocurrency often requires its own dedicated Crypto Seller.

Initially, players start mining Litecoins.

Bitcoin Mining

Advanced mining capabilities are unlocked through research:

  • Bitcoin Mining: This ability unlocks a coin with medium volatility and costs 10,000 science (research points).
  • Once Bitcoin is unlocked, it can be mined alongside or instead of Litecoin.

Coin Comparison and Value

The sources suggest players must balance the output rate versus the value of the coin:

  • Litecoin initially shows a high output rate (e.g., 6,000 per second) but a lower perceived value percentage (e.g., 200%) compared to Bitcoin.
  • Bitcoin may have a lower output rate (e.g., 2 or 4 per second) but is described as having a higher value percentage (e.g., 300%).
  • Upgrading the GPU cluster increases the mining speed for both types.

Optimization and Scaling

To maximize cryptocurrency revenue, players typically scale up their GPU resources and continuously upgrade related speeds:

  1. Multiple GPUs: Connecting multiple GPUs to the cluster increases overall mining capacity.
  2. GPU Speed Upgrades: The speed of the GPU cluster can be upgraded using money.
  3. Synchronization: GPU clusters can be connected to a Synchronizer node. This synchronizer can route processing power back to the main clock speed line (CPU processing speed), which in turn, helps the GPU mining process run faster.
  4. Crypto Value Upgrade: Specific upgrades are available to increase the crypto value gained from crypto coins by 100%.
  5. Dedicated Cores: When utilizing multiple core components, players can dedicate separate cores to different Litecoin mines to increase total output.
